Important Club Night Information ⚠️

Monday 08-09-2025 - 13:40

As you might have seen, there are no buses running. This is because First Bus drivers are on strike, you can find out more about their industrial action here.

Days of Action: 16/09/2025 - 20/09/2025

We know that many of you would have planned to use buses to get to campus and clubnights during welcome week.

Please read the important information below to navigate this disruption 👇

Latest Strike Update ⤵️

The U1 will now operate a 15 min frequency (Stoke Bishop to Triangle) starting Tuesday 16 September (08:15 - 18:45 from the transport hub). The bus timetable will continue to develop during this week - you can find up-to-date information on First Bus industrial action online.

Do not walk alone to and from Club Nights

We suggest you use Uber, Bolt or licensed taxis to get to and from club nights.

Before you go out, download the apps and add your payment method so you are prepared.

⚠️ Important: If you choose to walk make sure you stick with friends, take breaks, grab food, and bring a layer or a coat for wet weather.

Clubnight Reminders

  • Clubnights are 18+
  • UOB students only
  • Valid ticket and legal photo ID required (passport or driving licence only)

You will be charged a clean up fee if you are sick or cause a nuisance in a taxi - so please be responsible.

Getting to Stoke Bishop Halls from City Centre

  • If you're able, walking is a good option during the day. The walk is around 45 mins.
  • When the industrial action is over, the U1, U2, 77, 3, 4 or 5 are your best options! Find out more here
  • At night, we suggest you get a bus or a taxi. Uber and Bolt are your best options here in Bristol.

⚠️ Important: Do not walk alone across the Downs at night. If you do walk; go with your mates, stick to the pavements and be prepared to walk a long way (it's further than you think).

Remember the Bristol Rules

We support the Bristol Rules!

  • Take it easy: Pace yourself and look after your mates.
  • Be responsible: Especially in taxis. Poor behaviour can lead to being removed from the services – so please be careful!
  • Out together, home together: Never walk home alone.
  • Call out inappropriate behaviour: Respect everyone and do not be a creep.
  • Stay away from the water’s edge, especially around Harbourside: Please follow water safety guidance and how to stay safe around water.

Bristol SU Welcome Staff and First Aid will be at club nights to help you if you need any support.

⚠️ Important: At club nights, security staff will be on hand to deal with any inappropriate behaviour or security risks.
