PGR Resource Centre
We want all our members have the best possible time at university, but we know that postgraduate researchers (PGRs) need unique spaces, communities and support. We’ve created this resource hub to showcase everything we have on offer for PGRs.
What is Bristol SU?
Students’ Unions are often known for providing the FUN stuff that you can do alongside your course. Whilst we do a LOT of this, we also support your academic achievement in many ways!
Bristol SU is led by your elected student representatives, including the Postgraduate Education Officer and PGR Reps. Like a trade union, we can represent you and lobby the University to make the changes you’d like to see; we champion topics like education, welfare and student life, rather than employment rights and pay (which you would go to your trade union for!).
Being a member of Bristol SU is free, and you’re automatically enrolled as a student at the University of Bristol. We’re not-for-profit, which means any money we do make during the year goes straight back into improving your student experience!
Events, Sports and Spaces
Whether you want to find friends through a shared hobby or book a venue for your own meet ups with fellow PGRs, we can help you find your place in the University of Bristol community.
Events

Bristol SU hosts events for postgraduate students throughout the year, particularly during Welcome Week. Of course, you’re more than welcome to attend events with a broader audience, but we know PGRs often want to spend time with fellow postgrads.
