Yachting at UBSC aims to be the connection between beginner sailing and competitive potential. Whether you’ve never stepped in a boat before or aim to compete in the BUCS yachting nationals, there is space and opportunity to explore the bigger boat side to sailing. Our GIAG sessions will be held on 16th September (Wednesday of Freshers Week) at Cardiff Bay Yacht Club in UBSCs Hunter 707, with both a morning (9 til 12) and afternoon (1 til 4) sessions followed by a group social! The session will consist of (hopefully) relaxed sailing around Cardiff bay with opportunities to get as involved as you’d like. There will be instructors and volunteers onboard and ashore to answer any questions and tell you all about how great UBSC is! We will organise all transportation from the University Sports Centre in cars to Cardiff, with further information once you sign up for the Give it a go! Make sure to bring clothes for the weather, with extra layers and waterproofs just in case. If you have a buoyancy aid or water shoes, bring them along but we can provide spare buoyancy aids for those who don’t have them. The aim is to have a relaxed atmosphere and great chat, we can't wait to meet you and have a fun day!
