We are aware of a protest that was held by Friends of Palestine earlier this term against the speaker Charlotte Korchak who was invited onto campus by The Bristol Free Speech Society. 
 
We are committed to supporting students who may be affected by the invitation of a speaker onto campus. We offer our support and solidarity to our Palestinian students, who we know can feel adversely affected by the presence of certain speakers on campus.
 
As a charity we are bound to uphold the law and allow freedom of expression, even where our views may differ from the speakers invited. Bristol SU follows the University of Bristol Freedom of Speech Code of Practice and respects the rights of all our students to discuss difficult and sensitive topics.
