Important Study Space and Exam info!

Monday 01-12-2025 - 00:00

Exams are just around the corner, and we know how important it is to feel prepared. From extra study spaces to hassle-free travel on exam day, here’s everything you need to make this assessment period a little smoother.

What's even better, these changes have come directly from asks by your Full-Time Officer team who are working hard to make your Exam Season as smooth as possible!

Need a Place to Study?

With assessments and coursework deadlines approaching, Katie your Union Affairs Officer, has worked with the University to keep teaching spaces open for students who need a space to study.

Secure your space now! ✅

Also did you know? If a teaching room is free, you’re welcome to sit down and start studying, until that room is being used for teaching again.

Having trouble accessing a room or the website? Email Katie at su-union-affairs@bristol.ac.uk.

This follows Katie's earlier success in securing the Bristol SU basement for student group activities!

Bookable now during the week via Skedda, this is a huge space and we have already loved seeing groups making the most of it!

Exam Buses Are Back!

After last year’s success, we’ve secured additional funding to bring the Exam Buses back for this exam period.

Book your Bus ✅

These buses help students get from Clifton Campus and Metalworks to exams at Coombe Dingle, a brilliant initiative from your Student Living Officer, Lucy.

So if you have got an exam at Coombe Dingle - we’ve now got your stress free morning transport covered!

Why are we doing this?

In TB1 last year, Lucy’s research showed over 40% of students had to get a taxi to Coombe Dingle exams, costing an estimated £7,000 overall. Nearly 70% said they’d use a shuttle service if available, so here it is! If this goes well, we could continue into TB2 and beyond. If you have booked, look out for an email afterwards and let us know how your journey went. Your feedback matters ⭐

🚌 Important travel info:

  • One-way only – you’ll need to make your own way home (local options: No. 3 bus or U1).
  • Arrive at the pick-up point at the time on your ticket to grab a free breakfast snack and avoid delays.
  • Seats are limited – booking ahead guarantees your spot and gives you proof of booking if there are delays.

⚠️ Important University Info:

  • If a bus doesn’t turn up, you should still make your own way to Coombe Dingle. Buses are scheduled early to allow time for this.
  • Students cannot enter the exam hall after 09:45. If you arrive after 09:15, you can still start the exam if you’re there by 09:45. Extra time is not given.
