Donate your Plate

Tuesday 06-05-2025 - 10:00

Are you moving out of halls and don’t know what to do with all of your odd bits of kitchenware? Perhaps you’re joining us in September, and would like to avoid the costs of new bowls and plates?

Donate your Plate is the answer to unwanted move-out waste and initial move-in costs!

This initiative will offer you a place to donate any unwanted kitchen waste – from forks and spoons to pots and pans. So, if you have any perfectly good items, that could be useful for someone when you leave them behind, donate them now.

We will be holding collection points from 7 May 2025 in the Richmond Building entrance, Senate House, and in Stoke Bishop Halls of residence.

The aim of the campaign is to collect items that The British Heart Foundation is unable to sell in the shops, therefore combatting the waste produced when first years move out of halls. All items collected will then be offered to new and returning students in Welcome Week – creating a sustainable cycle! In 2024 we collected/ gave out an incredible 3623 items to 725 students.
