Bristol SU launches its new Housing Advice Service

Tuesday 18-11-2025 - 16:31

We are so proud to announce the launch of our new Housing Advice Service, designed to give students the confidence and knowledge they need while renting.

The Housing Advice Team offers free, independent and confidential advice to all University of Bristol students. Whether you’re signing your first tenancy agreement, dealing with unexpected repairs, or simply want to check your rights as a tenant, the team is here to help.

Most of the time, students use the service when something has gone wrong or when they need guidance on complex decisions but they are also here for those who just want reassurance before making a choice.

The service covers a wide range of topics, including tenancy agreements and licences, emergencies and scams, moving out, finding housemates and accommodation, bills and finance, and maintenance and repairs. If we can’t resolve your issue, we’ll make sure you’re connected to someone who can.

Students can access support through online and in-person appointments, as well as drop-ins at Bristol SU Lettings. You’ll also find the team at events like the Housing Fair happening on Thursday. To request support, simply submit an enquiry form via the Bristol SU website.

This service exists because students asked for it. Over the past few years, Student Living Officers have consistently raised housing as a key concern, and have worked so hard to make this service become a reality. We’ll continue to listen and act on student feedback, so keep bringing your ideas to us.
