The theme for Black History Month 2024 is 'Reclaiming Narratives'. Bristol is a diverse city and it is important that we provide opportunities to promote knowledge, and learn about, Black History and experience. We also want to continue celebrating Black joy and community. You can learn more about Bristol's Black History with Bristol Museums, who are gathering stories and showcasing voices that shine a light on Bristol's past.

The Black Students’ Network (BSN) is a platform that aims to promote the unity of Black students on Campus by essentially building the largest possible black “Network.” Their primary goal is to ensure all black students in the university feel a robust sense of belonging throughout the academic year.
Follow them over on Instagram to hear about upcoming events and meet-ups @bsnbristol, and find out more about the Network on their webpage here.
We want Black History Month to be an opportunity for students to create lasting connections and to further educate themselves about Black History. Beyond this, we're proud to collaborate with a number of student groups and networks throughout the academic year to host a range of events that celebrate Black culture and community. These events range from educational panels to performances. Don't forget to keep an eye out on our 'What's On' page to find out what events we have planned during and after October.
