Are you ready to step into the world of rhythm, grace, and storytelling? We are thrilled to invite you to a special "Give It a Go" session on Kathak Dance, one of the most elegant and expressive classical dance forms of India. Please feel free to wear any comfortable clothes in the first session. However, if you have access to traditional Indian classical dance salwar-kurta-chunni attire, please do wear it. Please carry a notebook and a pen to take notes. Event Details: Date: 17th September Time: 6pm to 8pm Venue: AR2 room opposite Anson Rooms, Richmond Building Cost: Free of Charge Capacity of the class: 50 students. Whether you're a complete beginner or someone with a love for dance, this session is designed to give you a taste of Kathak's unique blend of intricate footwork, expressive gestures, and rhythmic patterns. You'll learn the basics in a fun and welcoming environment, and no prior experience is required. Come along with your friends and expect to make new friends. Why Attend? The breakdown of the class will be as follows:- 5 mins: Brief information about Indian classical dance form of "Kathak" and what to expect from Nritya classes. 5 mins : Warm up 10 mins: Teentaal [16 beats rhythm] vocation 15 mins: Footwork 5 mins Break 15 mins: Hand movements 10 mins: Kathak Spins 20 mins: 2 rhythmic dance compositions 20 mins: Choreography to a 1 minute song. 15 mins: Questions or doubts.
