We run training courses and workshops throughout the year on a variety of topics. Find and book sessions through our Training Calendar.
In early June, we also organise Committee Fest, a two-day training festival for new committee members to help them get prepared for the year ahead.
If you'd like training that isn't currently available, please contact the Development Team on firstname.lastname@example.org who can deliver training sessions on request.
Please ensure you complete the forms at the end of the training.
If you need specific help with something, we strongly encourage you to book a meeting with the Development Team! We can help with a wide variety of things including (but not limited to) sponsorship, finances, AGMs, constitutions, committee roles, budgeting, events, grant writing, handover and wellbeing.
The Development Team will be hosting drop-in development meetings in the SU Living Room every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 10am. You do not need to book these meetings, simply come and find us for a chat (and maybe a cup of tea!)
We've noticed that student groups often need help with some financial processes. We are more than happy to spend extra time with individual groups to answer any questions you may have relating to the financial running of your club/society.
The drop in sessions will take place twice a week: every Monday between 3-5pm and Wed 11am -1pm.
The sessions will cover:

Bristol SU has 13 Networks that lead campaigns, hold forums and organise social events. They are representative bodies that build communities and create change through collective action.
Student group leaders are encouraged to join the Societies Network Facebook Group to keep up to date with relevant news and collaborate with other student group leaders.
Your six full time officers are elected by the student body every March and are paid to work full time to lead Bristol SU for a year. They represent students and help improve the student experience at Bristol.
You can get recognition for attending extra-curricular courses and workshops, as well as a variety of other Students' Union activities through the Bristol PLUS award, run by the Careers Service. The award provides a framework to reflect on the skills you have gained and learn how to articulate them effectively to future employers.
The Careers Service offer a wide variety of careers and employability events. These range from short talks that cover the basics on employability through to interactive workshops, such as mock assessment centres and opportunities to practice and prepare for interview.
The Student Counselling Service offer group sessions designed to give you the opportunity to share experiences and learn and practice new skills.
Sports Clubs can get advice from the Sport, Exercise and Health Department (SEH) on sports-related issues such as BUCS, coach recruitment and liaison, SEH facilities, performance services (e.g. nutrition, strength and conditioning, sport psychology), player recruitment and academic scholarships.
