Regular Weekly Bookings

Each group that has been given regular weekly bookings should have a login to our online system where you can amend, add notes to, or delete your bookings. For most weeks we hold back Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the Anson Rooms. All other activity spaces are held back on weeknights and weekends. 

Please be aware that the Anson Rooms will be used for exams in May & June and so will not be available for bookings. Exact dates to be confirmed.

 

Short Notice (AKA Ad-Hoc) Room Bookings

Any spaces that are left un-booked, can be requested no more than two weeks in advance by any student group. Please contact the Student Services Team by phone on 0117 3318600 if you can see a room that you would like to use. Please note that any room booking that you make will not have any technical support, or additional equipment beyond what is already in the room you book.

 

Special events

Special events can be held in the Anson Rooms, AR2 Bar on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays and our Theatre spaces on any night of the week.

Please use the online booking form to make your request which you can access here

>For bookings during Term 1 please put the request in August.
>For bookings during Term 2 please put the request in November.
>For bookings during Term 3 please put the request in January.

When you place your booking, you will be asked for some basic information regarding your event. With this information we will check the technical requirements, let you know of the costs, any additional information that we require and, provided all is in order; Approve your booking. Depending upon the complexity of your event, you may be asked to meet with our Technical & Events Teams. If we feel that a request isn't appropriate, we will be in touch to provide details and further advice.

Please note, societies are only able to book technical equipment via the Special Events process. More information about charges for technical equipment and support can be obtained form the events team.

 

Music Rooms

Any student can book our music practice rooms free of charge.

We have 3 Music Rooms:

Music Room 1 (Band Room)

Music Room 2 (upright piano)

Music Room 3 (upright piano)

Suggested booking length is 2 hours. Bookings can be made up to 2 weeks in advance. Bookings cannot be made for the same day - if the room is free then it can be used by requesting access from the porters. A contact email address is required for all bookings

Please remember that the key card must be returned to the porters by the end of the booking slot ready for the next person.

Current students can request the music room login details by emailing bristolsu@bristol.ac.uk with their UCard number.

Cancellations

If you will not be using the room you have booked please notify us via email at least 24 hours in advance of the event taking place, so that it can be released for others to use. The sign in sheets are monitored with regards to society usage and we will contact you if you have failed to use a room without cancelling it within the 24-hour notice period.
