Placements for Bristol students fall into three categories:
The University has a duty of care to students who are on such a placement and takes this seriously. In particular, the University has responsibility to ensure that the academic elements of placements are satisfactory. This can be broken down into three categories:
If you encounter any problems whilst on your placement, we recommend that you first raise this informally with your placement supervisor, line manager or Erasmus organiser. If you are unable to resolve any issues at that stage, contact your University-based placement organiser, your personal tutor or a Just Ask Adviser. You may find it helpful to refer to the University’s guidelines on student placements in taught programmes.
If you behave badly on a placement, you may face disciplinary action by the University or your placement may be put in jeopardy. If you find yourself in such a situation, please contact a Just Ask adviser.
